DEI Announces the Incoming Class of Leadership for Philanthropy Stations

On March 1, 2010, 37 stations from around the country began an intensive, year-long project to build or expand a major giving program that will help them raise gifts of $10,000 or more. The program offers training for general managers and boards of directors to help them connect and engage with the communities they serve and increase gifts.

A highly customized effort, the program is targeted toward station leaders who will receive help in four possible focus areas:

  1. Cultivating the Philanthropic Community
  2. Strategic Planning, Case Building and Engaging the Community
  3. Restructuring the CEO's/GM's Work
  4. Leading the local Staff's Efforts

Station managers and community leaders will be recipients of various training efforts including in-person meetings, webinar and consulting on-site and by phone. They'll also help each other by meeting in cohorts that will keep everyone motivated and on track.

This is the second year of a CPB funded initiative managed by DEI. In the first year, 20 stations participated. Twelve of those 20 will be continuing their work during this second year and an additional 25 stations will be joining the project for the first year.

DEI is looking to fill the remaining 3 slots available in this project. If you are interested in participating, get in touch with or for more information.
